About Scottsville Virginia

Founded in 1744, Scottsville was the original county seat of Albemarle County.  Located next to the James River, Scottsville was a vital part of commerce during the 1700’s. Today it is a great place to live, raise a family, own a business, and go to get away.  Scottsville is located 18 miles south of I-64 and the town of Charlottesville.  It is the ideal place for someone to get away from the traffic and fast pace life of Charlottesville, Richmond or Northern Virginia.  (We still do not have a traffic signal!!)
